Where Foothill Platform Group helps

Technology problems rarely stay inside organizational boundaries.

01

Assess & Transform

When technology investment and operating models aren’t keeping pace with the business.

  • Technology spending is growing, but leaders can’t clearly connect that investment to business priorities or measurable value.
  • Operational inefficiency and unnecessary complexity are driving up costs and making it harder to improve productivity and margins.
  • The organization has grown or changed faster than its operating model, leaving priorities, ownership, and decision-making unclear.

Our Approach

Connect technology investment, operating performance, organization, and business priorities. Look across individual initiatives to understand how decisions affect the broader operating environment, then establish clear priorities, ownership, and an executable roadmap.

Selected Prior Experience

  • $1M+cloud & vendor savings delivered
  • Executive prioritization and governance established across complex technology portfolios
02

Modernize & Operate

When the technology operating model is struggling to scale.

  • Growth is exposing reliability, security, and operational weaknesses that are beginning to affect customers, employees, or delivery.
  • Teams use different tools and engineering practices without always considering the workflows, dependencies, and processes that connect them across the organization.
  • Too much work still depends on tickets, manual handoffs, and specialist knowledge. Platforms, automation, and self-service aren’t eliminating enough of that work.

Our Approach

Create common engineering and operating practices across teams. Connect tools, workflows, ownership, and processes rather than improving them in isolation. Build operational readiness into delivery, then use platforms, automation, and self-service to eliminate recurring work.

Selected Prior Experience

  • 99.9%+availability
  • 25%improvement in MTTR
  • 20%fewer repeat incidents
  • Hundreds of hours/month of manual work eliminated through automation
03

Lead Through Change

When the organization needs to turn direction into execution.

  • A critical transformation has executive support but is struggling to move from strategy into sustained execution.
  • Growth, reorganization, or leadership change has left teams with unclear ownership and competing priorities.
  • Business commitments are outpacing technology capacity, forcing difficult tradeoffs at a time when the organization also needs to improve efficiency or scale.

Our Approach

Establish clear priorities, decision rights, ownership, and operating rhythms across teams. Translate executive objectives into accountable delivery while keeping critical operations moving.

Selected Prior Experience

  • 100+engineers & senior leaders led
  • $50M+technology operating scope
  • Global technology organizations and complex production environments

The right starting point depends on the problem.

Some organizations need clarity and a roadmap. Others need experienced leadership to stabilize an organization or carry a transformation through execution. Foothill Platform Group can engage in the way that best fits the organization and the work ahead.

About Foothill Platform Group

Operating experience behind the advice.

Foothill Platform Group is a principal-led executive technology advisory practice helping organizations navigate complex technology decisions, strengthen operations, and execute meaningful transformation. The work spans technology assessments and operating models, reliability and incident management, cloud and platform operations, customer support and workforce technology, and fractional or interim technology leadership.

The work starts by looking beyond individual teams, tools, and initiatives. Technology decisions affect workflows, operating processes, organizational ownership, cost, reliability, and the experience of customers and employees. Foothill Platform Group connects those pieces so leaders can see where problems originate, understand their broader impact, and make better decisions about what to change, where to invest, and how to move forward.

That perspective extends to automation and AI. The focus is not simply adopting new technology, but identifying where it can meaningfully improve how work gets done and what needs to change across workflows, ownership, governance, and operations to make it effective.

Kim Saurer

Kim Saurer

Principal & Executive Technology Advisor

Kim brings 20+ years of technology leadership experience across global digital marketplace and enterprise software environments, including leadership of 100+ engineers and senior leaders and $50M+ in technology operating scope.

She is at her best when problems cross organizational boundaries or when the signals that something is wrong are scattered across systems, teams, and customer experiences. Her career has spanned customer support and service delivery, production and reliability engineering, cloud and platform engineering, and Corporate Technology and security. She understands the technology deeply enough to challenge how systems are designed and operated, while keeping reliability, customer experience, and business impact at the center of those decisions. That combination helps her see dependencies and consequences that are easy to miss when each function is viewed independently.

A particular strength is making complex technology operations more predictable. Kim has built incident and crisis management programs, strengthened service ownership, and developed operational insights that connect technology performance to customer impact. Her work has helped teams detect problems earlier, intervene before customers are affected, and turn incidents and customer issues into preventive action. Her approach combines executive perspective with an operator's bias toward execution: make the problem visible, understand what is driving it, then change the operating environment so recurring friction and customer impact don't become an invisible tax on the business.
